Stammer Courses/ Workshops

I would recommend people with stammers to attend courses as this will help you alot. I feel the course that I went on has helped me considerably in my condifence and it showed me I can do things that I thought I couldnt do. Its also an opportunity to make friends and meet others who have a stammer.

The City University In London (RECOMMEND)

A week long intensive course ran during school holiday periods in April and July, and sometimes in January, with follow-up days at half-term.
Up to 24 people are accepted on each course and are divided into two groups: 7-12 and 13-17/18 years.

The Starfish Project

"The non-profit-making Starfish Project offers an affordable 3 day residential course in the South of England to help control speech. It teaches a basic technique which involves costal breathing and with 100% commitment and hard work, it can change people's lives, like it has mine. They run courses monthly and for age 11 up to adult. They also offer free lifetime support and you can go back on any course for free to refresh and in fact, they rely on people doing so to help train the new students."
